Change in the Sunday Worship Times

St. John’s Lutheran Church begins our Summer Worship Schedule Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day Weekend.

Saturday services beginning May 24, 2025 at 5:00 pm in the Chapel is a Traditional Service.

Sunday morning services beginning May 25, 2025 at 9:30 am in the Sanctuary will be a blended traditional and praise service.

High School Graduation Celebration

2025 Graduates

St. John’s Lutheran Church celebrated our High School graduates on May 18, 2025.

Frankie Fuller graduated from Salina Central High School with Honors and will attend K-State Manhattan to pursue a degree in Finance and Economics.

Andrew Vasquez graduated from Salina South High School with Honors and will attend University of Kansas to pursue a degree in Astronomy and Pre-Law. Andrew will perform with the KU Marching Band, Jazz Band and Choir.

St. John’s celebrated Frankie and Andrew with a Book of Psalms by Walter Brueggerman and a soft blanket for comfort and support as they pursue this exciting new chapter of their lives.

Amelia and Pastor Kim shop for warm clothing for St. John's Mitten Wreath to gift Salina Grace with warm clothing for the Christmas Season.

St. John's Lutheran Church is purchasing a Family Farm including 1 cow, 2 goats, 2 pigs, 1 rooster, and 6 chicks, seeds, agricultural tools and education.

St. John's is collecting food items for the Salina Food Bank and Emergency Aid.

Sunday, December 8th - Advent was celebrated with a Christmas Cantata "This is Christmas" by the Adult Choir and String Ensemble with a guest soprano solo. The music was an exceptional gift to celebrate the Christmas Season.

St. John's Lutheran Church joined Immanuel Lutheran and Redeemer Lutheran in singing Christmas Carols and giving candy to kids and the young at heart on November 23, 2024 during the Salina Christmas Light Parade. It was a festive way to celebrate the beginning of the Christmas Season with our Salina Community.

Women's Retreat November 2024

“Fragrant Beauty” A Women’s Retreat explored the many fragrances of God’s story; through Biblical history, present in creation, and in the beauty of yourself. We enjoyed the opportunity to breathe in many Biblical fragrances, create a painting, and explore God’s word reflecting on the definitions placed upon “beauty”.

We experienced “Fragrant Beauty” in the midst of God’s beautiful creation within the season of Autumn at our own ELCA Outdoor Ministry Site, Camp Tomah Shinga, south of Junction City. We took time to enjoy, relax and explore nature void of ringing cell phones, noisy traffic and the bustle of daily life on Friday, November 1st and Saturday, November 2nd. We hope you will join us next Fall to refresh your spirit and nurture yourself.

Operation Christmas Child

Shoe Box Gifts

Once again, our congregation is supporting Operation Christmas Child, a nondenomination outreach of Samaritan's purse. We'll be collecting items to fill shoe boxess of gifts for impoverished children in over 70 countries. Many of these children's families have fled their homes due to violence and live in crowded refugee camps.

Items will be collected through October 31st.

We are needing new (only):

Coloring books
Art Activities/projects
Soccer or playground balls that can be deflated to fit in shoe box,
Small air pumps to inflate balls
Washable markers
Hair bows, barettes
Small trucks and cars for ages 3-9
Small stuffed animals
Medium girls and boys socks (ages 5-9)
Card games, travel size games
Yoyos
Sidewalk chalk
Small flashlights
AAA batteries
Colorful T-shirts size 3T-size 14
A multi-use tool or small fishing kit for teens
Items for sewing kits

Each box cost $10 for mailing. We are collecting $1,250 for mailing these precious boxes. Join us in giving hope and joy to children who live with nothing!

There will be time to enjoy, relax and explore nature void of ringing cell phones, noisy traffic and the ferfor of daily life.

Join a beautiful collection of your sisters in Christ as we encouter God's fragrant beauty. You are welcome to travel to Camp on Friday morning with Pastor Kim and enjoy the Camp property and spend time in conversation and relaxation. Form programming will begin following dinner Friday, November 1st at 6:00pm for those who will be arriving after having worked that day. We will return home on Saturday, November 2nd at 3:00pm.

You are invited to bring a snack to share. Other needed items include a Bible, bedding (twin) and towel. Let Pastor Kim know if you need linens or a Bible for use.
